Anupama Viral Question: If Anupama Can Stay with the Shahs, Why Can't Gautam Stay with the Kotharis?
Star Plus's show Anupama has always revolved around Anupama's life. Time and again, her journey follows the same cycle of downfall, a new beginning, another setback, and then a comeback.
As viewers have seen, Anupama suffered immense mental trauma during her marriage to Vanraj. She tolerated countless injustices because she believed that, despite everything, her husband loved her. However, her patience finally broke when she discovered that Vanraj was having an extramarital affair with Kavya. The revelation shattered her, and after several confrontations and emotional battles, she decided to divorce him.
After the divorce, it seemed that Anupama's life would finally improve. However, at Bapuji's request, she continued living in the Shah house and, even today, remains connected to the family. Despite trying many times to build an independent life and spread her wings, she never completely succeeded in breaking free from the Shah family. Even after finding love in Anuj and marrying him, she could never fully cut ties with the Shah household.
Interestingly, Gautam in the Kothari house appears to be facing a somewhat similar situation. In the Shah family, Bapuji often keeps Anupama close for his own emotional support but rarely takes a strong stand for her when needed. Similarly, in the Kothari family, Vasundhara keeps Gautam around because he helps her to take revenge against Anupama.
Double Standards for Anupama and Gautam?
Vasundhara wants to maintain control over the family, and many of the questionable tasks she wishes to accomplish are carried out by Gautam. This is one of the reasons why she cannot easily remove him from her life. Moreover, Vasundhara considers Gautam and Prerna's daughter to be a Kothari family member rather than Ansh's daughter, which further strengthens her connection to Gautam and his position within the family.
If Anupama can continue staying in the Shah house for Bapuji's sake and out of a sense of responsibility, then why can't Gautam remain in the Kothari house for Vasundhara's sake? After all, he manages much of the family's business and takes care of many responsibilities on her behalf.
Of course, there is a major difference between the two characters. Anupama is portrayed as the heroine, while Gautam is the villain. This naturally makes viewers support Anupama more because she represents the positive side of the story.
Still, when viewed from a different perspective, both Anupama and Gautam have become deeply tied to families that constantly use them for their own needs. They may believe they hold influence and authority within their respective households, but in reality, both remain trapped in family dynamics they cannot fully escape.
What are your thoughts on this comparison between Anupama and Gautam? Do you think they are more similar than they appear?
Now it will be interesting to see how the stories of Anupama and Gautam progress and what new twists await the viewers.
