Anupamaa is bringing a new track for its viewers with the entry of Manish Goel as Raghav in the story who will become an important character in Anupama’s life. Raghav and Anupama meet under bad circumstances but develop a close friendship which will be shown in the upcoming episodes as Raghav decides to lead a normal life again.
Raghav saves Anupama’s family from facing Kothari family’s wrath with his decision of closing Pankhudi’s case, making Anupama indebted to him for his grateful decision. Anupama agrees to help Raghav get a respectful job and welcomes him as a permanent employee at “Anu ki Rasoi”.
Raghav gets a makeover after he gets released from jail making Anupama wish for his good life in this new beginning that he has chosen for himself. However, Raghav's return into the neighbourhood leads to many new rumours spreading about Anupama and the Shsh family.
The locals watch Anupama and Raghav walking together and talk about how Anupama is again with another man which shows the signs for an upcoming third marriage in her life. As Anupama and Anuj's relationship also started from the special bond of friendship, the neighbours mock Anupama for making a new friend now that Anuj is gone.
However, Anupama decides to stand strong in the local neighborhood and asks Raghav to follow in her steps. Raghav says that he should not have come to visit her outside to which Anupama replies that they do not need to lower their heads as they have done nothing wrong.
Raghav gains confidence from Anupama's words and both friends reach the Shah house confidently where Anupama announces that Raghav will be working with her in Anu ki Rasoi. Anupama warns everyone to hold their tongues in front of Raghav as he has been released from jail after serving his time for a crime that he has not even committed. Anupama assures Raghav that he will be given the same respect as a normal employee of her business gets.
