The well-known former cricketer and celebrity figure Navjot Singh Sidhu’s name has been dragged online today as the social media went to an uproar over his supposed death news. 

However, the news you are seeing about the BMW car accident actually have no link with the former cricketer and politician.

On Monday 15th September, a BMW crashed into a motorcycle which was being driven by a Punjabi man named Navjot Singh with his wife seated behind him. The man was revealed to be the Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs. 

With the controversy of the driver of the BMW getting arrested and the grant of bail despite the deaths happening, the online arena is completely lost over another major rumour.

Navjot Singh is not Sidhu, similar name creates confusion online

Many news outlets and social media accounts have announced that the person who died was Sidhu whose name sounds similar to the actual victim. This has created widespread rumours and confusion with the online searches becoming more prevalent.
