GEN Z questions their futures with protest against corrupt politicians, can Indian youth ever dare to achieve this in future?

The recent mass protests in Nepal led by Gen Z have given the entire world a shocking picture of the power of today’s current generation who get dismissed regularly from political discussions.

Social media has gone into an uproar with a flood of new content in the platforms of TikTok and Instagram, serving live updates from various points of view.

With the surge of tension against the corrupted state of the country, the hasty decision to ban the social media apps pushed the ultimate nail against the uproar seen later.

Me being a part of the Gen Z generation, understand many points put forward by the youth of Nepal and how they were pushed to become the bad guys in order to reach a proper solution.

As a part of the younger generation, the politics in the South Asian countries tend to neglect us completely in all their speeches and campaigns.

When asked for answers, we get tagged as the “uninterested and useless generation” for the future of politics in the country.

My question stands, “How are you making decisions for the youth of the country without even knowing what the youth truly wants?” Every time before the elections, we spot ministers coming with promises of employment which never becomes reality at the end.

Exam scams like NEET, SSC have been destroying the futures of bright career bearers who are losing their light against the immense pressure put on their shoulders.

Gen Z has always been vocal about their opinions online on every platform, be it sports, politics, religion, or whatever you want to tag us in.

However, no big media outlets have ever covered those stories instead of bringing fake priests and gurus for their exclusive interviews.

GEN Z voices supressed to the point of violence

Again, the question comes, “Does the government truly not know what the youth wants? Or do they just choose not to see it.”

With the anger of the students and youth destroying the government and beating up ministers out in open, the online response is divided into positive and negative.

One side feels it was long due and congratulates the gen z of Nepal for achieving such a big thing in just 2 days while the other side is criticising the protestors for destroying their country and government and showing such levels of violence.

The truth is undermined that the majority of damage done to public buildings was done by the escapees of jail and Maoists who took advantage of the situation to cause chaos.

As a student in India, I highly empathise with the youth of Nepal and want raise a question to ourselves, “When are WE going to fight for our futures in this bleak mess of vagueness that the government is selling us?”
