Bollywood sensation Vicky Kaushal is all set to play the role of Chiranjeevi Parashurama in the highly anticipated film "Mahavatar" directed by Amar Kaushik
The movie is set to hit the theaters in December 2026 wherein this epic tale is already creating a buzz.
Vicky recently shared a series of jaw-dropping posters on his social media Instagram account, showcasing his dramatic transformation.
Sporting long hair and a rugged beard, he looks completely unrecognizable. In one striking poster, he dons a rust-coloured dhoti and Rudraksh beads on his wrist and arm, adding to the authenticity of his character. He is also seen wielding a formidable weapon, embodying the essence of the eternal warrior.
Captioning the post, Vicky wrote: "Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas – Christmas 2026!"
About Parashurama
Parashurama is believed to be immortal (Chiranjeevi). He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva.
Born as Ramabhadra in the Bhargava Clan, headed by Bhrigu (one of Lord Brahma's Manvantaras), he later earned the name Parashurama after obtaining Mahakaal’s Parashu (axe weapon). He led the Devas to victory against the Asuras in a crucial battle.
In the Mahabharata, Parashurama played a significant role by teaching Bheeshma, Dronacharya, and Karna the art of war and weaponry. He even fought against Bheeshma to fulfill Amba’s request to kill him, though he was unsuccessful.
