Latest News!! Aashish Mehrotra aka Toshu opens up about the big risk he took for the show

The current track of the popular show Anupama is leaving no stone unturned with some shocking twists.

In the latest track of the show, we saw Toshu bursting out at Anupama for ruining his married life and future.

In an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, Toshu aka Aashish Mehrotra revealed that he cried out to Rupali Ganguly when he read the track before performing on screen.

Aashish said, "initially when I came to know about my track, I wasn't able to gulp it, it did take me a few days to accept that I am doing this track and I had a lot of questions as to how would I do it, how would the audience receive it and all. The makers have been extremely supportive and helpful, this was one of the most difficult tracks for me while performing. My major concern was how would the audience take the track and react to Toshu."

He further said, "It was a big risk that I took and I thought this is my only opportunity as an actor to try my best to justify the character and it did touch the right chords and the feedback has really made me feel successful. We are finally addressing an issue that is not being discussed in families despite being a part of their lives for years."

Aashish was scared to perform such a scence, he said, 'I was scared about it, everyday I was calling Ketki with so many doubts, how will I react to Kinjal?, will Toshu have a positive change or will the character turn completely negative? Will there be a grey shade to the character and so on. Somewhere, Toshu is telling a story that resonates with reality, there are such people in the society. If the person is talking about it then he is bad, while there are many who still continue to do the same. So, as a character I feel, Toshu is being honest about his feelings."

Aashish opened up about how it has been to perform these emotionally heavy scenes with Rupali Ganguly, "Honestly, after a very long time Toshu's track has returned as there were few tracks in between and the audience also needs to get hold of the multiple tracks. Suddenly, my track came and when I actually read the script I cried for the first time before doing the scene. Rupali ma'am saw me in tears and came to me, she just told me one thing that 'Just own it and do the scenes' it did take some time to register but I took my time, I went through the script numerous times and I delivered it with all the dedication and gladly I had time to do my homework before doing the scenes."

Aashish has been getting appreciation for his acting skills for his performance in the show.
