Salman Khan’s latest action thriller, Sikander directed by AR Murugadoss and Co starring Rashmika Mandana, was released on March 30th 2025 coinciding with Eid festival.

The film opened with an amount ₹26 crore on its first day on the second day collection rose to ₹29 crore as of Eid holiday. By the 3rd day earnings declined ₹19.5 crore bringing the total domestic collection of approximately ₹74.5 crore.

Sikandar's arrival was met with a flurry of excitement, marking the end of Salman Khan's notable absence from the film scene, which lasted more than a year. The movie signaled his first on-screen pairing with Rashmika Mandanna, a collaboration that sparked significant interest ahead of the film's release. The promotional efforts, including the unveiling of the film's trailer and songs, successfully captured the audience's attention, setting high expectations. As Sikandar opened to decent reviews, it has been doing wonders at the worldwide box office.

Challenges for the film and producers 

The film facing challenges that include leaked online shortly after its release and prompting the producers association to urge audience to support the industry by choosing legal avenues the director ar murugadoss revealed that whelming had to be conducted under heavy security due to death threats against Salman Khan which disrupted the production schedule.

Sikandar which marks Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s return to the big screen after Tiger 3, opened in theatres on Sunday, much hype and anticipation.

However, sadly for the film, prints of the action flick were available for download on various piracy handle.

 The movie received mixed reviews from critics and audience. While some praised it’s high action sequences and performance others felt didn’t fully meet expectations.
