Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the longest running show in Stra Plus channel. The show is currently witnessing its Fourth generation with Rohit Purohit and Samridhi Shukla playing the lead couple Armaan and Abhira. The show has been able to leave a huge impact in the lives of the ardent fans as the show focusses on family bonds and forward thinking about how to handle relationship and dignity together. The show also promotes joint family structure in the Indian Society that is dying out soon.

It seems that there is a significant drop in the TRP of the show and the channel has given notice to the makers of the show and this has sparked an online debate over the pressure that makers of show face due to the pressure from the channel to perform at any cost.
