Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: Nidhi Shah approached for the show, Ekta Kapoor meets Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay

Star Plus is planning a big project for the channel with Ekta Kapoor bringing back the iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi with the original cast reviving the story for the new generation. The well known name of Smriti Irani is confirmed to return to the TV screens with this reboot of the show with which she started the journey of being an actress.

Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Hitesh Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan Tejwani are all in rumours to make their comebacks with the new version of the show that is in its production process with promo shoots going on. Recently, it was reported that Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay were seen outside Ekta Kapoor’s house hinting at their return in the show as main characters.

As we have reported earlier, Rohit Suchanti has been approached to play the male lead in this new version of the iconic series which gained the top spot in TV industry for the entirety of 2000s. Rohit Suchanti is well-known for his role as Rishi in Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi whose shooting just ended a few days ago.

The female lead is still in process with many names coming forward with the casting process in progress. Shagun Mehta was confirmed as the name to pair up with Rohit as the lead but the confirmation has been dismissed with new actresses getting approached for the role.

Nidhi Shah has been approached by the makers for the show and can be confirmed as the final choice for a character in the show. It is not confirmed if she will play the main female lead but fans can only expect until any final confirmation reaches us. Nidhi Shah was last seen in the role of Kinjal for many years in Star Plus’s current top show Anupamaa.
