Lupin episode 2 spoilers: Assane goes to jail in search of truth

Episode begins with Lupin in a prison.

We are then given a flashback of how this happens.

Once the necklace has been stolen, he takes it to his friend Benjamin, a jeweler who tells him that necklace has never been taken apart.

Since the buzz around the necklace was that all its diamonds were scattered in different parts of the world after its theft, it indicates that whole story was a lie.

This makes Lupin surer than ever that his father was framed. He decides to find out the truth.

His father wrote him a confession letter from prison.

He rereads that and finds out that there are two spelling mistakes continuously.

His father always insisted on spellings and was something of a expert in the matter.

This makes Lupin suspicious of the letter.

When he searched closely, he finds out that spelling mistake was actually to indicate the name of other cellmate in prison.

Lupin plans elaborately and ends up in prison where other cell mate is residing. He is very old now and kept in an infirmary.

Will Assane uncover the truth ?

Lupin manages to hurt himself and gained one-night stay at infirmary.

He questions the man who says he knows nothing about the innocence of his father.

The only exchange they ever had was of an Arsesne Lupin book.

Lupin decides to search that book.

Once he got hold of the book, he fakes his own suicide in prison then makes his escape.

Once able to analyze the book he finds out that his father has darkened certain words in the book which adds up to his innocence and the fact that Mrs. Pellegrini framed him.

Next, he confronts Mrs. Pellegrini who admits that she made him sign the confession but she was promised by a certain inspector Dumont that Babakar would get a reduced sentence.

She also reveals to Assane that she was his mysterious benefactor who paid for his private school studies in the past.

It was revealed in flashback that at this school he met his friend Benjamin the jeweler who was now helping him.

Episode ends with Assane searching for Inspector Dumont, who is to be his next lead for the quest of his truth.
