Welcome back to our daily dose of drama and secrets. Today we are diving deep into the world of Lavina Tandon.
Most of you remember her as the powerful Rukaiya Begum who gave Jodha a tough time. But the path to that throne was not as easy as it looked on screen.
Before we talk about the big shows did you know Lavina was an adopted child. Her parents showered her with so much love that she always felt like a little princess.
She started her journey at just twelve years old. Her curly hair was her biggest strength and it helped her land her first roles. She even worked with Rajat Tokas long before they became the royal couple of the small screen.
They were together in a show about Prithviraj Chauhan where she played a character named Chamki.
She also tried her hand at comedy in Papad Pol and played a fairy in Baalveer. She was always looking for something new to do in front of the camera. But then came the moment that changed everything.
Imagine getting a phone call at half past one in the morning. That is exactly what happened to Lavina. The makers of Jodha Akbar were in a fix because Smiley Suri had to leave the show suddenly.
They needed a new Rukaiya Begum and they needed her fast. Lavina gave an audition and within twenty four hours she was the new queen.
Now here is where it gets really juicy. Have you ever wondered why her anger as Rukaiya felt so real. It turns out a plot twist is coming in her personal life.
While she was playing the jealous queen Lavina was going through a massive heartbreak in real life. Her partner of three years had cheated on her. She was hurting and angry.
Instead of crying at home she took all that fire and put it into her acting. When she yelled at Akbar or felt jealous of Jodha she was actually letting out her own real pain. Do you think you could use your personal sadness to become a star.
The show was so popular that a girl even ran away from home just to meet Rajat Tokas. After the historical drama Lavina felt stuck in negative roles. Producers only wanted her to play the villain. She decided to take a break and wait for something different.
Now she has moved to the world of OTT playing a police officer. It is a big change from the heavy jewelry and royal robes. We are excited to see what she does next.
